C6 Problem...
I have an 87 model C6 and i just installed a B&M Shift kit in it... This was the kit that reqiured a replacement seperator plate and a plug and an additional check ball... after installation the transmission will go into park... reverse... nutreul... and drive all perfectly but the shifter will not go past park into 2nd and 1st... it will drive great in drive and it shifts very firm just like it should i just cant get the shifter into 1st and 2nd... I guess i should tell yall that the shifter is on the column... Help me out guys whats wrong with my tranny?... i thought i might not have the shifter linkage attached to the valve body right?... just want some opinions... Thanks for any help i can get

The first thing to do is disconnect the shift lever linkage from the trans and see if you can shift into 1st and 2nd using the lever on the trans. If you can then the problem is in the steering column, if you can`t then the problem is with the linkage inside the trans. Good luck.
