Intermittent Wiper System

Hi,
I have a 1990 E350 (motorhome) with a standard wiper lever switch (slow/fast). I would like to convert this to an intermittent wiper system. Has anyone done this and if so what parts do I need. Thanks in advance.

Yes on 70's and 80's trucks.

The way Ford Builds Trucks all you will need is the Switch and the governor which just plugs into the harness.
They are expensive from Ford though.

Maybe check around for a 90's 150-250 in your area to
get one out of it.
If you can't find one at a wrecker.
Maybe, A Truck that's been written off or something.

The systems are usually found in Lariats and XLT's
Check with an Auto wrecker for Interchange for this part.

If your handy with the wires there is a place that sells a kit that installs into the wireing to vary the interval. I got one and installed it into the rear wiper on my old 95 Escort and it worked perfectly. If you like I'll dig around and see if I can find the place that sold it to me for around $15. You should be able to find it on the web just search for electronics kits. That's how I found it, looking for something else.
Good Luck

I would be very interested in knowing where you got the module from.

Could you copy me on the information. 56xpresso@***.net

Thanks,

Try
http://www.elexp.com/kit_2599.htm

It’s not expensive and it works I put one on the rear wiper of my old 95 Escort and it worked fine for about 4 years until I got rid of the car. As far as I know it’s still out there somewhere today.
Good Luck

kwajite, I just installed an aftermarket interval wiper unit from J C Whitney and it works great. The wiring harness in my 71 would not work with the newer controls. Don't spend the money for the higher priced unit with (mist control), it did not work on mine.
