i have a 90 f250 4x4, i have some 2" lift blocks for leaf springs and was wondering if just the lift blocks would be ok or if i should just get a level kit that also lifts the center of my drive shaft ( twin i beam). cause im guessing ill have to get the thing aligned afterward either way. i dont really care but i have to book an alignment 2 weeks ahead of time so i dont want to be driving around with my camber all screwed up for two weeks.
I had to read that over about 8 times before I understood what you're asking.
Personally, I would never put lift blocks on the front.
But if you decide to do it anyway, a 2" lit is small enough that the shop will be able to install camber sleeves that compensate for the lift and will bring your truck back to alignment IF they know what they're doing. Many shops don't know how to, or simply won't deal with lifted trucks.
If you were lifting it 4", then you would need to use TTB drop brackets.
No you can not use lift blocks in the front between the axle and spring, it is a very unsafe thing to do. Any shop worth its salt would refuse to work on it once you installed them. If not you're in the wrong place to start with.
The axle can wrap under during braking and bind the steering linkage to the point you could lose control.
If you want to lift the front, please do it right. It's better for you, its better for the truck.
Now if this truck will strictly be used off road thats different.
ok thanks, i just found the blocks lying around so if it would work i was going to use them. i figured they were useless if they were just left lyin around.
