High idle

Hi, I have a 1988 Ford Bronco II 4WD. When the engine is hot, it starts to run very high on the neutral position (2000-2500 RPM). I've changed the IAC valve, it's better but it's still running high. What else should I try?

Correction, it's not better, it's worst. Now, when the engine is hot and on the neutral position, it's running like crazy (3000-3500 RPM) I disconnected the IAC valve, it works fine, but I'd like to find the problem. Any idea? Throttle sensor, coolant temp. sensor. I have no clue. Is it possible a bad wiring of the IAC valve? With a ground wire, the valve stays open all the time. Please, help me.

It was likely not the IAC then if it still does it and has gotten worse.

You probably have a good sized vacuum leak, one that has opened up even more.

Check all the vacuum lines over real good. It could be another type of leak but the lines are most common.
