I have an '07 Explorer. Eddie Bauer Model, and have ordered a spare PATS key. I will have it cut, and want to program it myself. Is the programming the same as my F-150? Put the first original key in, turn to on, then off. Repeat immediately with the second original key. Then, put the new key in and do the same. Is that correct? Thanks for the help!
I ran across this purely by accident yesterday: http://fordpowerstrokeforums.com/dow...0Job%20Aid.pdf
The procedure shown (Procedure #6) is different than I have seen elsewhere for Ford's, ie, cycle the ignition a number of times then press a button on the new key. It shows what you said. I haven't tried it out but am curious to know if it works.

Oops. Looks like I was confusing programing of keys with programing fobs. Anyway, it looks like the procedure you described works for nearly all Fords. I see that they also have an aid for the fobs over at fordpowerstrokeforums. Good references. http://fordpowerstrokeforums.com/dow...0Job%20Aid.pdf
