Fuel Level Indicator Wiring Question

I am tring to get the wiring right for my factory in dash fuel leve indicator to work with an aftermark sending unit. I added a veggie system to my truck and had an 18 gallon diesel tank fabbed up for start up and shut down. I am wanting to wire the set-up so that the sending unit in the new tank with display my diesel fuel level on the factory gauge. The new sending unit is made by Wema if that helps at all. I have tried seemingly all the various wiring combinations and just keep getting an empty reading. Does anybody know what colors are what with the factory wiring for the fuel level indicator? The aftermarket sending unit has a black wire which is the ground and a pink wire which is the send.
