wow what a difference it made it sounds and looks so much better right when i took off i gunned it and i heard the whistle loud and clear but it was kinda a pain to get the foil off but i got some remover from lowes and it was like acid and the glue just came right off and i painted black ill try and take some pics tomorrow
well worth it do it if you haven't yet
and while i was at it i painted the stock grill flat black looks so much better but tomorrow i need to put some clear coat on it so the bugs and stuff wont kill it ha
Yeah, go ahead and post the pics of that grill. I think I am going to paint mine along with the wifes F150 Crew cab one. Hers looks worse than mine but both kinda sucked from the get go.
ya im not sure i did it right because it seems to soft like it will scratch easy so ill see tomorrow with the clear coat and hope it holds up and ill let you no
but i painted all of it so ill see how it holds up on the shiny part btw nice truck man
thanks... thats an old pic but was the best grill shot...newer pix are in my sig..just click on it,,,,paint is hard to get to stick on chrome..did you scuff it real good???....
LOL way to get off topic guys. Just curious how long it took you. I've been wanting to do this, I might have a chance to do it at work but don't want to get stuck there at the end of the day.
i didn't really scuff it that good but it stuck for now and ill redo it this weekend the grill took a while to get off cause i had four clips but after that just painted it and put it back
the foil mod took me and a buddy about 2.5 hours its cause first didn't have the right tools got them then had to take afe intake off to get the pipe out took most foil off by just pulling and then went to lowes and got a can of some stuff and sprayed it off and it looked like acid it just ate threw it fast then it took about 20 to 30 min to clean it up nice then painted it gloss black and put back on
then me and my buddy drove it and wow big difference i heard it loud and clear and it looks much nicer now and later that night my buddy was following me to my house and i was gunning it to hear it and when we stopped he said he could hear it loud
so all in all great mod and it was cheap and fun to do i might do this to a couple of my friends cause they have never heard of it ha

its a 1/4 thick nylon mesh..very strong stuff..a factory I deliver too uses big roles of this stuff and I grabbed some scraps..I made a screen for the upper and lower grill...it keeps winter stones and rodents from hitting the IC..
