bedside lockbox

was ford the only one to ever have a bedside lockbox?

has anyone seen the new titans?

If you tap that lockbox in just the right place, it pops open. The sheet metal on these trucks is very thin, so don't lean your backside against the doors or side of the bed...BA-BUMP!

btw: This is an XE 4WD King Cab, I can tell by the wheels, and it has no side mouldings.

Chevy's had them before Ford. And they were on the driver's side

Ford first offered them in 1964...they were always on the drivers side.

just remember to not get the storage area on the passenger side mixed up with the Super Camper Special spare tire compartment.

I musta been comatose when I typed drivers! The tool boxes have always been on the passenger side.

the sheet metal on our trucks is THICK!!! i tried hammering out a rather large set of dent the PO put in the bed. I couldnt do it with it still on the truck.

I have the toolbox on Burt. It's a great feature and holds a lot of extra "just in case" truck parts....

Go Ford!! (shame on you for posting a Nissan picture! kidding....)

Compared to the newer trucks it is...compared to the older (1972 and back) trucks it ain't.

You can pick up a fender from a '73/79 with your pinkie finger...try doing that with one from a 1961/66. Only Andre the Giant could do that...but he's dead.
