problem starting

problem starting
I got in the truck this morning, coffee in hand, ready to go to work. I start the truck but it immediately sputters and dies. I hit it again, sputters and dies. OK, I hold the gas down a bit and start it...it has trouble and goes up and down a few hundred RPM but I eventually get it to idle at around 1300 RPM by holding the gas down.
As soon as I let off the gas it dies.
I'm thinking idle air control valve (but i just had that replaced about a year ago).
Any ideas on what this could be? When I get it started by holding the gas down it runs just fine...just when I let off the gas it sputters and dies.
I had to take the wifes car to work and will look at the truck when I get home tonight. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
