Hi all this is my first post, thanks in advance for your help. I have a 67 f-250 4x4 it currently has a 300 six in it. I am considering putting a diesel in it so I can run homemade bio in it. In 1980 I did a frame off conversion and put a 72 4x4 chassis under it. It was originally a 2 wheel drive. That all said what deisel could I put in this chassis or what chassis could I put my cab and bed on. I love the truck and would like to keep it as original looking as possible. I have feeling it would be easier to move my cab and chassis. Thanks agian. Jim

sounds like a cool project...i guess the thing you have to decide on is what you want ur truck to do, and how much cash you want to throw into it...money can make anything possable...lol
Thanks for the welcome and the response. I'm a light truck usr-hunting, light towing and hauling mostly as a daily driver to and from work. My pockets definately have a bottom if you know what I mean.
I did a quick search on the 67-72 truck forum for "diesel" and found quite a few threads on diesel swaps... didn't find any real usefull info but I didn't read more than a coulpe of them...you might want to have a look too.
I don't know if your body swaps over to a diesel frame easly but obviously a diesel engine don't fit without some serious work... The 6.9 or 7.3 idi's would be a good engine, the thing to remember is that they weigh in excess of 1000#'s and an axel and spring that can suport the extra weight would be needed...
Now dont get me wrong cause I'm a ford truck guy forever but if it was me I would put some thought into a cummins swap...I just think the 12v is a fantastic engine... if you could find one for a good price
