96 7.3 turbo,96,000 miles had truck for a year, runs great in warm weather, but when it get cooler won't start. have to plug it in to get it to start.....
figured glow plugs were gone was the problem so i took rocker cover off on the drivers side and tested all four plugs by using a test light,, not sure this is correct way, was told it was a quick and dirty way. i did get a light. turned on key and tested with lite tester at rocket cover connector on the out side....no light ... it should be wire 1 & 5,,,tested all four plugs nothing.
tested glow plug relay appears to be working two small wires one stayed on the other flashed and about a minute later it comes on. with power on still no power to glow plugs.
is there another fuse or relay, wires coming out of relay is red but wires going to gp is brown....
one stays hot the other blinks when powered on and then comes back on about 1 minute later. still no power going to glow plug...manual said something about 2 15 amp fuse on motor block can't find any fuse other the the ones in dash and in main fuse box under hood.
reread question two large wires....one with black and red is hot the other has two brown wires and it isn't hot ....if this one goes to glow plugs then the unit is bad.
