Driving the 78
I have been driving the 78 around quite a bit the last month and it has been doing great. I think I have got all the kinks out of it. I also checked the mileage yesterday and it checked out at 18mpg. Still have a few things to do such as the am/fm/8 track, door pockets and fix the headliner.

Thats not to shabby at all for mileage in the ol truck. Plus I bet its a ton of fun to drive aroudn in too, theres something about those older trucks that are just more neat to drive around in then a newer one.

Marlon, maybe that 460 might get 18 down hill with a plow wind behind it.
. Hey, we should get the old trucks together some day before the summer's, and I still have the wiper **** for your truck.

I totally agree with that Sherm......
Although with a timing gear change(the older 429 style was much better), some decent rear gearing and a moderate foot I`m sure a 460 would be not too bad on the road once you get rolling along.
