Roger,
I also shot a few pictures of the dash.
Dash pictures would be so much easier if only they had built extended cabs... There are more pics in my gallery.

Jim - thanks! Actually, Irondragon (and a few others) have extended cabs...of course, they made them themselves. But, there were a few "custom" bodies made, seems like they were for the Forest Service, and oil companies.
You could be like me - I have no rear glass, so it's easy, you just stand behind the cab! Nah, I'd rather have glass....someday.
I like the dash with accents, but was planning on a light-ish gray for my cab, with dark blue (darker than the picture below) fenders, but am undecided now, how to "accent" the gray. Your accent appears argent, or silver, and I just don't see that working with gray. One of my other alternatives, is to do the inside of the cab, the dark blue with either gray, or argent accents. Still a tough decision. Not sure if I like the cab different than the outside of the cab, but, there's a lot of the inside covered by kick panels, headliner, etc, so it would probably look really good. Here's a rendition of what I kinda WANT it to look like...
I agree with you all - the black bumpers are perfect!

Roger, you are correct the accents on my truck are silver (aluminium). I believe that this is the original colour. I am thinking of clear coating the silver paint so it will do better with finger prints.
The headliner in my truck is black as well as the seat. The headliner is not original and is in bad condition, and the kick panels are missing, so those are things that I intend to replace. I will probably go with black
Wow, what a difference. I think the black bumpers look really good! (now if you could just do something about that grill......maybe a nice 48-50 grill would fix it right up.......LOL)
Jim
Good looking truck you have there. It is the colour mine originally was before a previous owner attacked it with a paint roller LOL! I too have decided to go with a black bumper, it just blends in better.
Note: I see the 52 Mercury streering wheels all split in the same place!!

John,
Thanks for posting... I had fun looking through your galleries - I certainly see the family resemblence. Good to know that my truck has a big brother.
I think you need to give that previous owner credit for protecting the steel with his roller.
BTW, if you would like a baseball cap like mine, my wife has started a custom embroidery business and can make you one. Hoopin-It-Up Custom Embroidery
Now that I have her running, I have been hearing a new noise that I have not noticed before. The noise is a fluttering/chattering that eminates from the voltage regulator. The noise seems to happen when the engine is cold and it is idling.
Jim - it's been a while since I've dealt with these regulators, but I seem to recall, that it is normal. Cold and idling, it would barely be making enough voltage out of the generator, to charge, so it would be cutting in and out. I'm assuming you are still on 6 volts, and generator?
Watch your amp gauge at idle - you might see it "flicker" a bit, at about the same frequency as your regulator.
If you are charging normally, I wouldn't worry about it.
I'm sure if someone has a different opinion/more recent experience, they'll chime in...
