Tachometer Problems

I am trying to put in a tach on a 94 2.3L Ranger that has a DIS. I have it all wired except for the green wire, I can ont figure out where it goes. The tach is set in 4 banger mode, the light works, now all I need is to hook up the green wire. People are saying splice it to the tan/yellow wire, I have tried that, but it does not do the trick. Any help would be great.

Tachometer Problems

Makes ya wish for the good old days with an old fashion distributor doesn't it? J/K. Okay, we're looking into the engine compartment from the front. If you look back on the driver side on the fire wall there is the power distibution box, black box, can't miss it. From that box there should be two sets of wires coming out on the passenger side of this box. Off the top of my head I don't recall which wire it was but its a wire in one of these two groups. The wire, when talking to Ford, the wire is called a Tach Test wire rather than whatever, but thats the wire you want to splice into. Later when I got more time I'll go check which wire it was on mine '96 2.3L and tell you. Until then, good luck.
