Quick Fuel Pump Question

Does the in-tank fuel pump for a 1984 F250 w/ 460 run constantly while the engine is running or does it run for a bit, then stop, then run for a bit, then stop? In other words, does it run all the time or alternate from on to off?

It runs all the time. It uses a return line w/regulator by the carburator.

Runs as long as there is sufficient engine oil pressure to keep the oil pressure switch closed.

Here's the wiring diagram for the 460 "Hot Fuel Option".

It's a little fuzzy at 300% zoom but readable.
