Dana 60 gears
I posted this in another forum, but I'll ask here too. 
Quick question guys. Dana 60 axle. are the gears interchangable on both the front and back axles??? I have a 3.55 rear and have all the parts for my 4x4 conversion. Problem is, the front I got has 4.10 gears. I found a set of 3.55 gears from a Dana60 (w/o carrier) Can I use them?????

D60 gear interchange...
In most cases the gear set in the front [D60] differential are identical to & interchangeable with those in the rear - if also a D60.
There are exceptions however: some 4X4's have dana 61's and/or "reverse cut" gears in the front differential. These will NOT interchange & not fit properly in a standard D60 case - front or rear.
The axle housings are marked. Check to see if both are stamped [embossed] with the D60 logo. If this isn't possible or feasible, look at the gears themselves & the position of the pinion in the case. It will be above the axle centerline [normal D60], but below the centerline if reverse cut....
