Hey guys, I posted this question in the Audio forum as well, not knowing which to post in so here goes...last night a friend of mine put 2 10's in my truck and hooked the amp to the battery. We tested the sound out for like 2 or 3 minutes and everything was fine. We go inside and a little while later I was leaving and my truck wouldn't start. Suggestions? At first it wouldn't click over, but I tightened the cables as good as I could and it clicked but wouldnt engage. Whenever I turn my key to the "off" position hoever my cd player makes a noise sounding like it is loading a cd but isn't. Any feedback would be helpful.
My best guess is that your amp is drawing power all the time. Not knowing what the hook up is for the amp this is a bit of guess work. I would take an amp reading on the amp (no pun intended) with the key off and see if there is a draw on the battery. Because of feedback through the system (sound system that is) that is what might be making your CD player act like it is loading. You might have to put a relay on the amp power line that is controled from the ACC of the ingition sw to solve your problems.
