hello from Virginia
It's a pretty decent unrestored truck that I had planned to leave that way, but now, after sitting has no brakes. It appears one of the front brake lines has rusted through.
After doing a little research on this site, I've learned about the "widowmaker" wheels, which my truck apparently has...
Now, I can't decide what to do with it....keep it or sell it! LOL
Thanks for the welcome!
I do really like this truck, which I why I bought it in the late 80's and got it running and driving pretty well back then. I got distracted with other projects about 2000, and it just has been sitting since then.
I did have to replace the main steel brake line going to the rear years ago, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised that a front one has failed.
The truck is so original, that I don't want to even consider changing rears or hubs or anything like that just to replace the wheels with "modern" ones. If there were some safe wheels out there that look like these, I'd surely consider going that route though.
I'm just west of Richmond, and I'll see what I need to do to join the VA Chapter, and maybe I can get "motivated" again. I'd love to show up at a cruise night in this thing!
