i have a 2006 f250 5.4L an it calls for 5w20 can i use 5w30 instead cuz theres not alot of choices with 5w20? an what are will it do 2 the performance an mpg?..
Yeah it doesn't make much difference. I switch between 5w20 and 5w30 Royal purple depending on how careful I am when ordering it, and I haven't noticed a difference.
5w-20 is super easy for me to find. Anywhere I go I can get 5w-20, even the local farm supply/hardware store has 5w-20.
The 06' gassers are designed for 5w-30 and thats what should be used. You don't even need a full synthetic, Motorcraft 5w-20 Blend can be gotten at a Dino oil price.
