have the chance on buying a 1 ton 1987 f-350 with plow. I heard that this truck is a workhorse. I have a home improvement business and plan on plowing with it. The guy selling it says it needs a carb and brake work and paint. its got a new bed and heard the engine was strong I havent been able to find any info on this truck. Does anyone have any advice on this vehicle and if it worth buying for $ 2500? Any advice would be appreciated good and bad.

Which engine does it have?? Any rust?? How does the engine sound when first started up and the engine is cold--any unusual noises?? How many miles?? Any fluid leaks or usage?? Will it a pass emissions test in your area??

 

rust and worn out parts is what you do not want.

look it over carefully to make sure that workhorse isn't ready for pasture.

 

1st of: 4wd or 2wd. If it's 4wd, it's already worth $1500.00 for the front axle alone (Dana 60 high pinion).
