Well the other night my buddy forgot to put my pickup in park and it rolled down a hill and hit a cattle gate so now my front passenger side blinker is all screwed up. When I turn on the lights the parking light wont turn on and the right blinker indicator is on solid in the cab when the headlight switch is on, but when i turn on the blinker it takes a couple seconds but it starts blinking like it should. The tail light blinks and works fine. It did break the plastic orange lens and dent the chrome outer grill but it sure did a number on that gate it snapped the chain holding it lol. Then another thing the blinker switch in the column turning both ways the clamps that hold the switch in place broke last winter when it was about -40 degrees so ive been holdng the blinker switch while i turn ever since but has been working fine until the other night, so i doubt that is the problem and the nearest parts store is about a hour drive so before i go and fill a tank of gas in i wanna know what options my options are.
yea i replaced the bulb and bent back the outer grill the best i could and got it lookin decent but the damn park light just wont turn on, i was wondering if a new socket would do the trick but like i posted above its a hour drive haha
Go to Shucks, they have metal sockets, not the plastic crap ones. My 78 had similar problems, and I replaced the light sockets and fixed the problem. On top of that I think that they were like $9-10 a piece.
