Check Engine LIghts
Folks,
Don't drive 30K miles with a Check Engine light lit! You may be destroying your catalyst, polluting the atmosphere, or just plain wasting gas. Get your truck to a dealer or mechanic with a diagnostic code reader and get it taken care of. Some examples:
Bad coil (misfires) -- may damage your catalyst.
Busted EGR system -- may idle rough, engine will run
hotter than necessary, pollute more.
Bad O2 sensor -- engine will run on "default" A/F mix, won't get best performance.
