No problem, you might want to take some time and look over the first thread in this forum. Has a lot of common mods and maintance tips and instructions. The life of these trucks depends on maintaince, just like any other truck. The conditions you are in, maintance is even more important. Glad you have joined us and if you hang around, you will learn all about your truck and engine.

Thanks again for everyone's replies. I'm reading and learning every chance I get. I guess I'll see what materializes on the offer for the truck and will probably start looking for something similar, a little newer and 4WD if it happens. Otherwise, I guess I'm going to start doing some of the mods you guys recommend.

I'd use the oil from your oil change and spray the underside of your truck...that salt air will attack every nut/bolt as well as the pans. The other choice would be to buy a pressure washer to rinse down the undercarriage.
