and LMC has them. good luck getting the bolts out. there is a hammer type screwdriver that turns when you whack it - used for old honda motorcycle cases. find one.
we need to hook this parts guy up to the internet. would save me a lot of time
other wise he would be a real miserable SOB. HAHAHAHAHA
Uh huh...
And who says I'm not now? See what I wrote in my profile, kiddo.
If a saint spent more than a few years doing what I did and you do...how long do you think the saint would be one? Not long.
Ever work the back parts counter Ed? Those mechanics will eat you alive...if you let them. The trick is...is to be more of a miserable SOB than they are!
Trying to remove those old bolts usually ends up with them snapping off flush with the bed body which leads to REAL grief.
You are much better off grinding off the residue from the old pivot and weld on a new pivot post made from a piece of cut off pipe.
Well I got one out but I snapped my T-50 trying to break the other one loose. Figures it was a cheapie torx set I bought years ago. I'll grab one at the store when I go to get the bearings and brakes I was originally working on.
Thanks for all the help guys!
Hey ND-what source are you using to know what location/Ford Dealer has a particular part number?? Are you using PartsVoice.com
I use partsvoice everyday to search for obsolete parts...But I also have access to another site.
Sorry, I can't pass the info along...one of my old Ford dealer pals lets me use his parts locator system.
Not all the Ford dealers are on partsvoice.
When I typed that p/n into partsvoice, lots of dealers came up, but I didn't want to have to scroll thru all those listings to find out who in OH had one (where the OP is), so I used the other system instead.

It's arranged by miles from Los Angeles, CA.
Whatever this unnamed source is-it must be good . This brings up another question-when does Ford decide to discontinue a part?? I suspect that cosmetic parts are discontinued before mechanical parts. Is that true?? I have heard that there is a law that requires manufacturers to provide parts for at least 7 years-is that true??
What really surprises me is that most of the parts that I order for my old Fords are just months old-and havent been on the shelf for the last 10 years!
