Well, I was hitting the go pedal pretty hard with the truck in the signature (more or less stock), and a loud pop came from the engine compartment. I was on the road to my house, so I just coasted it home, but really the truck seemed to run fine. No loss of low-speed power and no lights. Also, no loose hoses upon initial inspection in the engine compartment. I did have the TC locked. Any ideas on what the sound was? The truck is not driven very often any more, maybe 20 miles a week, but it was adequately warmed up. Thanks for the help.
ahh, I'll check that tomorrow. I am familiar with the intercooler, didn't know we are calling it a CAC now. If anyone has any other ideas of what to check, let me know so I can look at them all in the morning. Thanks again.
Look for the 2 big aluminum tubes under the hood. The one on the drivers side is wrapped in aluminum foil, the passenger side is not wrapped. There are rubber boots at the ends of these tubes. Two up front by the radiator, and the other 2 on top of the motor. If you look at the 2 on top of the motor, you will notice 2 more boots that are orange (or black because they're covered in gunk) that are down below the other boots (one pointing to each head). These 6 boots are your IC & CAC boots.
