Ok, I picked up a used Superchips tuner, I haven't had time to hook it up to the V10 yet. What I'm looking for is what settings any of you other guys are using. What works best in the 87 octane mode and the tow-perf mode. I'm guessing, that I'll be using the 87 octane mode more so than the tow-perf. Unless the mpgs in the high octane mode make the higher octane price even out.
I used one on my 00 F150, 5.4l and found it worked very well - I mostly used the Towing settings. When I got my X with the V10, I hooked it up and reflashed it the same way... didn't really notice any 'seat of the pants' difference. The V10 is pertty much tuned to the max, not saying you'll get nothing out of it, but don't expect a big difference.
Now for the settings - I always used the SC pre-tuned settings with one exception... when you look at the 'Trans Pressure' setting, bump it up 2 tics above the SC setting. This was suggested by someone and I found that with this setting, at highway speeds when you drop from OD to 3rd, this change will get you back on to OD sooner. I could set the cruise @ 65-70, hit a moderate hill and drop out of OD - before I would crest the hill, I'd be back in OD.
The tuner is also good to keep around to read/reset OBD codes, so it's worth the investment at street price.

Thanks Mark, I will maybe get some time to mess with it tomorrow after work. If the OD setting changes it the way you said, that will be worth it alone. Seems to want to stay out of OD way to long right now.
