Mass air meters, interchangable??
My 94xlt(302) is mass air already and getting ready to swap in a lightning 351 in the near future. But want to run 24# injecors on the 351. Are the mustang maf meters interchangeable on mass air trucks? If so what years?
BTW, the lightning transformation has already begun. Got the rims on, and about to swap suspenion and rear end over while block is at machine shop.
Here is pics of begining state of transformation...( and yes, tires will be swapped )

There's not going to be a stock mustang MAF meter that will set you up for 24 lb/hr injectors, if that's what you had in mind. The Cobra that used 24 lb injectors from the factory had a MAF that was calibrated the same as the mustangs with 19 lb/hr injectors, with the difference being accounted for within the computer. I'm sure that there is a mustang MAF that matches the wiring in your truck, but I don't know if there is any difference in the calibrations. The best way to go to larger injectors is to change the injector multiplier within the computer using something like a Tweecer. How much power are you planning on making with that 351?

Don't plan on making allot of power. Plans are 351/357 with the GT40 heads, GT40 intake, 65mm TB and a mild cam. I do have a TFS stage 1 cam but my block isn't a roller and not sure I want to spend the $$$ fro link bar lifters. So may run a hydraulic flat tappet again.
As for meters, I was planning on an aftermarket calibrated for the 24's. And I come across mustang parts all the time. Was thinking of using a C&L meter with 24# sampling tube and use the electronics from my stock meter.( if that will work) Or if mustang meter will work, would like to use Pro M meter(calibrated for 24's).

Unless you have some pretty extensive upgrades in the Lightning motor or plan to run a blower on it you don't need 24lb injectors. It will run much better and produce as much power as it's capable of with 19lb squirters and a stock mass air computer. If anything just add an adjustable FPR to bump pressure and extend the range of the 19lb injectors. A lot of mustang guys have been running scaled MAF/injector combos for years, and it works OK as long as you don't have emissions tests to pass. The reason it only works OK is because a larger motor really needs a steeper fuel curve, but a scaled meter with larger injectors supplies more fuel across the whole powerband, so it runs rich everywhere except WOT. How big is the stock mass air meter on your truck? If it's a 70mm that's fine for a stock Ligntning motor.
FYI.. I have been running a 5.8 with ported heads, cam, and full exhaust on a stock mustang computer and 19lb injectors for 8 years, it works awesome and produces great power.

Thanks Conaski,,,,,, looks like the 19's will do then..
Here is game plan for motor,.
1993 Lightning motor (bored if needed),
GT-40 heads,
Got 40 intake,
65mm TB,
TFS stage one cam or similar flat tappet,
1.6 roller rockers,
stock lightning headers,
exhaust system with 2.5" magna flow mufflers,
