On my way home from work tonight, my right side blinker began blinking very fast. I immediately thought I had a light burn out. Sure enough, the passenger side brake light/turn signal was not working. I checked the bulb for continuity and found that is was, in fact, burned out. Replaced the bulb with a new one and still no brake light. Switched light with the right side (which I know was working) and still no brake light. Turned on the headlights and found that both right and left taillights do work. Problem seems to be confined to the brake/turn signal circuit. Removed the right rear bulb socket from the wiring harness. Had the wife press on the brake pedal and checked for power with a digital voltage meter. No power. I also noticed that the third brake light on the upper cab is also not illuminating.
1. Has anyone out there had a similar issue?
2. Does anyone know if the passenger side brake light and the third brake light are wired in series.
The truck is still under warranty so I guess I'll let the Ford boys take a look at this point.
