95 Gauge swap

I looked and searched on this topic but I have questions I could not find.

Now I have a 95 F-150 5.8L E4OD with no tach.I found a 95 f-150 5.8L E4OD Flareside with a tach. Now is this a simple swap? I saw the writeup and it said that you just pull out the gauges from the donor and push in the gauges with the tach into my cluster housing. Now is there a rewire that I have to do? I see alot of charging problems. Also do i have to reprogram my PSOM and milage or is that all programmed so no matter if you swap the gauges over,it will stay the same?

Thanks

I am in the process of doing this for the exact same year model truck. The swap is a "plug and play". To carry your miles over you need to do this:

remove the screws holding the clear plastic lense, then two more screws that are into the black plastic, then once you are down to the gauges, just pop out the gauges DO THE END GAUGES FIRST the odometer will be the last one left, swap yours in place of the one in this cluster. reassemble and you are done. takes about 20 minutes, since you are re-using your odometer, your miles stay the same. only now you have a tach

I got this from the speedo vendor. My only problem was that the cluster he sent me was from a 94 (he was out of 95's) and the connector that clips to the shifter is different than the 95. If your just going to toss your old cluster when your through let me know and I would like to have the connector for mine.

95-95 swap is just that. Pull out the cluster, swap in your speedo section to retain your actual mileage. Put the new cluster in and you are done. No wires to change.

Really is a plug and play deal. I did my 95 and even swapped a stick cluster in my automatic (just have to keep your trans indicator...think it was 2 screws to remove/replace in the cluster.) If you aren't worried about the little stuff (like retaining your mileage) you can just pop out the old and plug in the new but keep in mind that your speedo (PSOM) is set for the tire diameter on your truck and you may need to reset a different one (is easy to do too...no tools even!). Otherwise, using a bit of respect for the delicate nature of stuff the speedo portion can be swapped over with no issue. This was really one of those kinda intimidating things that when done, you smile at yourself and ask "what the hell was I afraid of...I wish everything was that easy". Oh, and go ahead and replace the bulbs while you are at it too!
