Anybody have a 05-07 SD with a chrome grill that the chrome is wearing off already? It is worse in the middle where the vee in the hood sends a larger amount water over the grill.Dealer said it normal wear. Also anybody have bad window belts that cause the side windows to scratch when you roll the windows down?I don`t have my truck back yet so I don`t know if they fixed the belts, but they would not replace the glass.
Thanks Dan
Good News,My truck goes back Thursday for new grille, window belts plus new glass! Also there was the issue of the wavy bumper cover that they are fixing.Better luck second time around.Dan
Tuxx, i had my windows replaced by the dealer, there is a tsb on the windows. As far as the grill, i have the chrome package grill which has all the small slats.
yup, the chrome is wearing off of my 2005 grill along the top. I just noticed this last weekend.....and I am now 4 months and 1600 miles out of warranty.
Last night I noticed my grill has two gray spots, looks like where the water runs down it. My truck is so high I hadnt noticed it, but I was up on top installing an intake last night.
If I am not mistaken the tsb for the windows will only be down if it is under the three year 36 warrenty correct?
That is correct.
TSB's are not recalls but "Technical Service Bulletins" issues to assist the dealer level mechanic in fixing possible know reoccurring issues. A TSB is not an admission of guilt on the maker that all vehicles will have the problem but that "some" will. Recalls only deal with possible safety issues.
Had my windows replaced twice . Now my front ford emblem has white lines threw it like its fading. I also had my rear bumber replaced because it was rusting.
Thanks for the answers,It`s nice to know I`m not the only one to have these issues.Dealer is still waiting for parts to do the work on mine.
Thanks again,Dan
