I just got a 56 F100 for a Father & Son project. What do you guys think about the fiberglass front fenders? I am trying to spread our budget as far as we can, first is brakes and then rebuild front end.
I don't have any experience with fiberglass fenders, but other fiberglass body parts I've used turn out to be much more hassle than the $100 you may save. In my opinion, it's well worth it to buy a steel replacement. The fit's better and it's exponentially more forgiving.
fiberglass is ok. i would rather use steel. look around on ebay. don't buy the new ones that are listed. sometimes it takes awhile.also call mid fifty they might have a used one. i've seen a few fiberglass pieces crack or crack the paint

Reason: add on
I noticed you are located in Laverne. Bob's f100s is in Riverside and he has a whole yard full of used body parts including fenders. He is not cheap but you can avoid shipping charges.
