My gear box is worn, mechanic states they can not find any and that only alternative is to send off to Texas for rebuild with turn around time of 3 weeks. Does anyone know where i can find already rebuilt ones or a used one to send off so I can still drive the truck.
Ok, its a 73 SWB f100 4X, 360CID, 4speed manual, single speed transfer case.
the power steering pump hoses go straight to a valve on the steering linkage.
I have a ford shop manual i bought in 73, so i can probably get even more specific if you think you can help.
Okay you have the power "assist" steering which uses a manual box. The valve you need has 2 hoses and is inline with the drag link that runs from the box to the rest of the steering. Those setups are very $$$$$ to rebuild.
That is where I am planning on getting my steering gear for my '74. I got a quote back in Febuary and it was $316 + $100 core + shipping. They have then instock as well.
