Sachs Clutch replacement ?

Sachs Clutch replacement ?
Im talking with a guy who's truck Im looking to get, he said he had the Ford dealer install a single Flywheel with a Sachs clutch on his 7.3. Is this a common practice or a shortcut?

Not sure about the Sachs (brand Name?) but it's common to change out the dual mass to a single mass flywheel (SMF). The stick shift guys chime in here soon with a little more info or you can Search this forum for SMF.

It is common practice to upgrade to SMF, but you usually don't hear a dealer doing it. As for the brand name, never heard of it. But as long as the truck shifts fine, I wouldn't worry about it. If it sucks, it will show itself when you start modifying the truck. And when you do, we'll be here to point you in the right direction.
