rocker arms
would a set of 302 pedestal mount rockers work on our motors? i know the small blocks use a channel made of tin to hold the rockers straight but our heads have those nice little cast in ''guides'' to hold the stamped rockers straight on their pedestals, i'm talkin about trying to use a set of 1.72 302 roller rockers that are bolt down

No the rocker for a 302 is much shorter from the fulrum to the valve roller.
If you find set for a 429-460 they are eaxtly the same as the 351C,351M/400 bolt down rockers.

only thing is that they still arent adjustable basically you just get the benefits of friction or lack there of, think i'll just save up and get the conversion kit and a set of regular stud mounted rockers

You most likely don't need an adjustable rocker. And if your running a hyd cam there will no benifit to adjustable rockers.
