early 99 upgrade.

well I ordered the black widow diesel turbo kit to upgrade the early 99 turbo to the 99.5-2003. This kit was kind of a pain in the butt to get in! Those up pipes are a pain in the rear!!!!!! But i got it done and the truck runs like a raped ape and all I did was put a stock turbo on. Now I am having a problem with the transmission leaking a little bit. I wanted to know if there is a certain gasket i should buy. I have a rubber one on there now and it has lasted about a month and it is leaky again. Has anyone else had this problem?
Also I wanted to get some opinions on the track bar situation. I put a 2" leveling kit on my truck and took the bar off the truck to see how bad it would be. It has pretty bad bumpsteer now. Just wanted to see who sells good ones and see if that will cure my problem.

Thanks guys, you have been a big help already!

congrats on the up date..did mine a year ago and been very happy with it so far.. except for the fact i used stock up pipes with the donuts..im sitting here now doing bellow up pipes (intead of my 17* HPOP) cause my donuts gave out after only a year....when looking for front end parts on these early birds..you need to search and make sure what front end you had.. ill try to find out a cut off date for you a little later..what is your build date?? they made 3 differnt front ends parts till they stuck with what's on the 3/99 and up trucks....

Ummm, I think it's supposed to go on your truck, bro. Not judging you by any means. Just sayin....

Sorry, I had to get you. Seriously, I don't know about the trans gasket. Is it the gasket for the pan? I'm sure someone with more trans experience will chime in soon.

Good go on getting your up pipes done.

thats good..when you order parts they want the build date..your way over the second change over and your before the 3/99 change over..so you should be good to go..im right on the cut off..it took me 3 trips to Napa to get the right parts when i figured this out..Napa has a re usable gasket for your trans....

Thanks for being a good sport. We tease each other a little from time to time.

Welcome to the forum.

If I didn't use the factory pan gasket I would use a cork gasket. Plain rubber gaskets without a steel shim seem to give me trouble. Hope this helps.

Check the tranny pan where the leak is to see if it is damaged or has some type of defect that prevents proper sealing. I have reused my original gasket 3 times and no leaks.

right on guys! I did take the pan off and it was a little wavy from hole to hole so I put it on a flat piece of metal and pounded them out straight and good to go!

thanks guys!

Must have been over torqued at one time. Glad you got it sealed.
