transmission problem
early 90 model ranger, 4x4, auto. not sure what engine yet still waiting on more info. any way this truck will not shift out of first gear while driving. reverse and park and neutral all work, but will not up shift. any info would be great.

Low fluid can also cause you problem. Check fluid level and condition. If low fluid is not the problem, the next most likely issue is either excessively worn bands, or leaks inside the valve body or both.
