Overdrive off light flashes whenever I drive it on the highway. I took it to the shop and the codes said it had an intermittent signal to the sensor problem,. we changed the sensor and it didn't fix it so we cleaned all the connectors and checked the wiring . it all seems to be fine.. does anyone have any other ideas?
Info on your truck would be nice too.
Just throwin this out there, is the trans actually going in and out of OD?
If not then maybe the bulb is going out (the simple answer), or a loose/dirty connection at the shifter.
Easy to change: remove the trim ring from the shifter end. unplug switch/bulb unit.
hope this helps some.
I dont like those overdrive lights. Mine is flashing also. BUT I have never yet had a problem with my tran. I went to go have the codes read off at a shop and they told me that they didnt get a code either. Confusing. lol
i'm not sure if its true, but a friend of mine swears the OD switch on these trucks has a recall or TSB or somethin. may wanna check with the dealer to see if you can get this resolved for free
