ac problems

I have a 1999 f350psd 4x4, my problem is the ac is cold then after a while it gets hot then i gets cold again, i don't know what is causing the problem and also at max high it doesn't really throw very fast air through the vent's. i cleaned the blower and put a leaf blower through my vent in case there was something clogged but every thing was clear. maybe it is a weak blower? thanks

You have the classic clutch air gap problem.

Read this:

If that isn't clear enough, search this forum for "clutch air gap", and read up about it. You'll be able to fix this problem yourself with ease!

When it gets hot is the AC cluch engaged? If not, next time it happens give a firm tap the front of the clutch (carful not to loose a finger) and see if it engages. If it does, you need to re-shim the clutch. Do a search on this forum, Kwikkordead/Springerpop(?) has a good writeup on it.
