ok i was wondering have any of yall used engine stop leak. Because my dad told me to go get some yesterday cuz my truck leaks a bit of oil onto the drive way. well ive only heard bad things about stop leak on the internet. as in it can potentially make the problem worse or it only works for a few days stuff like that. any body have an opinion on if i should actually use it
why not buy a drip pan at wally world, kinda like a big 2 foot by 4 foot cookie sheet to catch the drips
pressure wash the motor and you might find the leak can be fixed pretty easy
dont see a miracle in a can working
gt
well i know ive got atleast 2 leaks. the 1st is i know for sure from the rear main seal that was known when i bought it, the stop leak wont stop that leak i know that. the second leak looks like its coming from the oil pan seal like i need a new oil pan gasket. not sure though cuz the leak hits the engine support beam and it drips off of there and i think there is a 3rd leak i have no idea were its comin from its from towards the front of the motor i think i might know what it is but i cant come up with the name of the seal im brain dead right now. but i just put the stop leak in the motor just to see what leak it seals up.
Stop Leak works by softening and swelling rubber seals. If the leak is not bad it sometimes works well. It will not cure leaks in oil pan/valve cover gaskets. It is well worth a try.
yeh my dad said the same thing i just got off the phone with him and he said the people on the forums that i looked at probably had half dead engines in chebbies, that they would smoke like freight train and leak like a stuck hog. i love those fraises anyways. yeh my leaks arent bad just overtime the driveway has really made it look like its worse than it is
That's like putting a band aid on a slit wrist........
Don't do it.
Fix your leaks the right way. Replace the seal and or gasket and be done with it.
haha thats a good repreasentation. but the deal i did it about 2 hours ago right after i posted this but dont worry i will be replacing the seal and gaskets that went bad b4 to long.
