axel problem!!!

axel problem!!!

this is my probleme..i got a f-250 1984 6.9diesel with a twin hight beam axel.i want to chang it for a straith axel of a f250 2001 can it be fix easely or wth some adjustement. i can have the axel complite for 300$

The 1999+ Super Duty trucks used a different bolt pattern, so you will either have to change the rear too and run 8 x 170 mm wheels, find a way to change the front hubs to 8 x 6.5", or run different wheels on the front and back.

so can some one tell me if and where i can find a front axel who can fit on my truck..i buy one but i need the disck..bering ..hub...galipper..trak bar drag linkk and here it cost $$$$ so can you tell me the best place to buy on the net

you need to find the brackets and frame mounting parts from another truck no later than a 1997 model

That axle is probably a Dana 50 too which is kind of an odd-ball and not as strong as the Dana 60 ford trans tech recommends.
You might find a whole truck cheaper than just the axle's cost alone.
Ford front Dana 60s are VERY desireable as they are high-pinion and until '91-'92 king pin style. I ussually see them for sale for around 1200-1800 bucks alone.
Watch out for early '80s F-350s as they might/probably have the TTB you already have.

Don't get one out of a GM/Dodge/International as they are right-side (passenger) diffs. Dodge switched to a left side diff. in '94 but it is a unit-bearing style and has no manual hubs, as well as being a coil sping/control arm suspension.

I have quite a few times bought a whole truck, swapped the axle(s) between the two and then sold the truck again for the same price or more (if I fixed the other truck up some). This method equals free axle(s).
