C6 Trans Bellhousing
Hey folks, I have a '79 Bronco with a 400m and wanted to know if the C6 transmissions have removable bellhousings that would make it possible to mate with a small block motor. Thanks for any feedback. Posted this same question in another forum by mistake, sorry.

c6 is one piece, need the case for the sb. Not sure if you can swap guts from one case to the others, as there might could be differences from year to year for example. Try the transmission forum if you get no love here.

From my memory of research on the C-6 you can swap guts but the later models in the eighties had the best guts, i.e. more needle bearings than the brass bearings, and oiling. Also, the later models use the same trans to transfer case mount as the 78 models just the later models were all aluminum with no notch for the NP205/NP203 shifter, while the 78 had a cast-iron mount with a notch.
