hello all,
i just bought a 85 F-150 4x4 , 5.8 got it home and tuned the thing up,usuall stuff ,wires, plugs, changed oil, pcv, thought i would put chrome vauvle covers and breather on it so i did all this and now i have a issue with oil blowing out of the dipstick. i drove the truck home from where i bought it 60 miles and had no problems, i put pcv on 1 side of vaulve covers like old ones had and breather cap on otherside that ran into old breather i just run hose from it in a catch can, there was 1 hose that went to breather i just got it hanging, idk if i should block it off or what, but id like some advice on why im getting oil blowing out top of dipstick,
Thanks Cliff
Take a look at the new breather caps to see if they are plugged off. I had the same problem with my 66 F-100 when I looked at it to buy. The previous owner stored it with all opening plugged. Once the breather caps were unplugged it was fine.
yeah as you said , breather cap was blocked off man thx for that info, was bout to give up . people telling me all kinds of crazy stuff was wrong with it ,but i knew since it just started doing this it had to be something i replaced on it .
