Shifter Issues
I have a 2004 F150 SuperCrew and when I press the brake, it won't release the shifter so I can put it in gear. I can reach in the console and manually overide the connection but has anyone else experienced this? I have tried to track the connection and see if something was jammed, loose, etc, but can't seem to come up with anything. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated....

like said above, check your fuses... make sure that your brake lights are working, and that will eliminate posibility of a bad switch on the pedal. you should hear a clicking noise when the brake pedal is pressed..... if not, then the actual latch on the shifter might need to be replaced.
