Engine swap options, please
Greetings. I drive a '96 E-350 Superduty cutaway cab & chassis for work. (2wd, EOD4 auto, LS differential) I just passed 200,000 miles and it is running flawlessly. But I am contemplating having a replacement ready. What vehicles would be the best/simplest donors? Or how should I shop for a replacement? Thank you. Kirt

your best would be your most alike. Same engine and Trans would be the first thing to look for imho. i would say unless your loading it real heavy the diff will likely hold. so even if its an E250 i would look for eng/trans first. i'm not positive what they did differently from E series to F series.. the oil pan is different. accesories? but as longs as you keep the engine the same size maybe you can swap all the things you need from yours to the donor even if its from an F series.
