Here in Wisconsin we have no earthquakes, tsunamis, CARB, and not many wild fires.

I was in the 6.8 that hit Seattle a few years ago. I feel for ya.

I am kinda suprised that we don't have earthquakes here right next door to Cali in Arizona... Very rare here.

Nah - we have 4 seasons: Almost winter, winter, still winter, and road construction...

I can easily dress for winter weather. Earthquakes you can't...well, maybe you could always wear a hardhat.

Winter is expected. Earthquakes are always a surprise.

Have valuable treasures in the house like pottery, glassware, etc?

CA antique stores sell "earthquake paste."

A little dab on the bottom of the item assures it won't fall off shelves.

The paste will not harm the finish of the treasure or the shelf.

I needed some of that for my 42" Plasma TV that fell off the wall when we had our 5.X a year or so ago here on the Big island.

We get earthquakes quite often. Not so much now that the volcano is really spouting off. But usually twice a week or more. Not big shakers but enough to freak you out for a minute.

I was living in So.Cal. back in the early '90s and went through a three point something. I moved the same day; I think that the earth should move only at certain times.

Glad you and yours made it through ok.

Our lezbo Earthquake lady's at Cal Tech said "We have a 99.9% to 100% chance of The Big One
in the next 30 years". I wonder who will play Charlton Heston ?

No quakes here. Also no hurricanes, tunamis, rats, roaches or gators. However, like wisconsin, we have very short summers and long winters.
That's a trade I'll take.
