Another A/C smell thread
When I just sit and idle my '05 SD with AC on recirc and all windows closed I soon get a powerful smell similar to exhaust fumes in the cabin. When I switch to fresh air setting the smell goes away. My dilemma is (1) Why would exhaust fumes get into the cabin in the first place if AC is set to recirc and (2) If exhaust fumes were present near the intake why would the smell go away when AC is set to outside air? (3) I get no smell when vehicle is moving and AC is set to recirc. I searched and read all AC smell threads and I don't see one with these symptoms. My symtoms started last summer. The truck is is almost 4 years old. Anyone out there had similar experience?
