I need to have the clutch replaced on my '92 Ford Explorer; asked around and got some quotes, most more than $ 600. I was wondering if anyone of you have an idea how many hours it'll take?
I know repair shops charge by the job not the amount of time they spent on it. Can it be done in 3 to 4 hours?
2 wheel a couple hours would be plenty, 4 wheel drive in the rust belt? add another hour or so.
If rusty any bolts that can't be simply cut and replaced and would need to be heated to be remove, add time to that. No real way of knowing ahead of time what will come apart easy and what won't.
A 2 wheel drive in a sunshine state, a quick easy job for sure, a money maker for a repair shop.
