I have a 2005 Eddie Bauer with a Power Steering Problem
The problem is that the steering is tight, there is no return when turning. Almost as if there were not power steering at all.
The dealer has replaced the steering rack twice and installed a new power steering pump.
They tell me my model does not have a variable speed sensor.
Any suggestions they have had it in 4 times and still can't figure it out.
There are small u-joints in the steering shaft between the rack and steering column. They bind and cause tight steering. The joint isn't sold separtely from the shaft, but a lot cheaper than a rack.
Thanks, they called today and said they are going to replace that next no charge since they have already billed for the other stuff...thank goodness for extended warranties
