radio problem

I have a '98 explorer xlt. Lately the radio has been going crazy. It turns on fine but then it switches off by itself and on again like crazy. On, off, on, off ... it's driving me crazy. And it has been going on for about a year. I took it to the dealership so they could take a look at it and couldn't find anything wrong with it. It also affects the cd player. Bottom line is that the radio/cd player tunrs off by itself without touching any botton. And yesterday the volume control stopped responding. I can't turn the volume up or down.

Anyone have any ideas?

Your on-off problem sounds like a power or ground problem. When does this happen- bummps. The volume sounds like a sterio going bad.
