Hey all! Gotta say i love this forum. Down to business. I have an 02 f250 that i pulled to do the oil pan and put in my new bts tranny but while the motor was out things snowballed and i ended up with a bare block. It happens! So i rerung it 99 rods new rods and mains cometic head gaskets head studs you know the drill. Got it all put back together and it barely runs. So a mechanic friend stopped and listened to it and said timing which i said all along and everyone else said no it's just building pressure. I pulled a glow plug and definitely out of time. I lined the marks up i swear but it's off. now I'm second guessing myself. Can the marks be lined up and the timing still be off? What do you think? Btw I did the fuel pick up mod and the quick disconnects, kwik's bosch pump, fed the rails from the rear and and aeromotive regulated return. Fuel in buckets. Thanks guys. You rock.
I don't suppose you took pictures along the way so you can go back and look at everything without taking the motor apart? A digital camera comes in really handy for this type of thing.
As for easy things to check, maybe double check the CPS is installed correctly? But if you checked TDC and your timing mark is off there's no easy fix.
